Japanese factory in NETDA primed for further growth
The first phase of a new factory in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – was reportedly completed and began trial production in March.
The plant was built by Japanese high-end diaper manufacturer Daio Paper Corporation at a cost of 1.6 billion yuan ($248 million).
The company is reportedly accelerating the pace of development of its business, expanding into areas such as toilet and kitchen paper output. Construction of a second plant started in 2019 and started operations in 2020, achieving an annual output of 3,600 tons.
"This year is the ninth year that Daio Paper has settled and invested in Nantong," said a senior executive of the company. He said the company had achieved annual output of 54 million packs of wet paper napkins and planned to introduce the production of feminine care products in the future.
