The Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area, or the NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – is making work safety a top priority.
A team led by Lu Jianxin, deputy director of the district management committee of the NETDA, recently conducted a survey on the matter.
It looked into enterprises with large land use and safe production supervision of ship repairs before the May Day holiday starting on May 1, according to reports in the local media.
Lu said that the NETDA, with safety in mind, planned to accelerate the construction of offshore wind-power projects.
With the core target of increasing its tax revenue, the area would identify and focus on development. It would also accelerate the safe implementation of intelligent manufacturing, product innovation and planning and the utilization of idle land in accordance with local conditions – as well as promote the transformation and upgrading of enterprises, improving quality and efficiency and high-end development.
After the survey, the team looked into safety protocols in local enterprises, as well as compiled a report on inspection plans, inspection forms and progress in inspections made by third party safety intermediary companies.
Lu stressed that ship repairs and construction companies should strictly carry out safe production.
Additionally, he enjoined that the development zone to do a sound job in safe production during the May Day holiday – as well as to accelerate the intelligent technological transformation of traditional equipment and improve the essential safety levels of local enterprises.
