NHIZ's company named provincial smart factory
Shanghai Zhanhua Electronics (Nantong) Co in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (NHIZ) was recently selected as an advanced-level smart factory in Jiangsu province. The intelligent production lines in its workshops and the dynamic data flowing through the full-process traceability system vividly demonstrate its advancement and innovation.
In the company's 5,000-square-meter intelligent drilling workshop, nine automated guided vehicles equipped with QR code navigation technology function like intelligent porters, precisely delivering raw materials, replacing traditional manual handling, thus becoming the smart factory's new workforce.
Zhanhua Electronics commenced production in NHIZ in August 2020 and carried on its intelligent transformation in 2022.
The company plans to purchase 64 equipment items from 2024 to 2025, with a total budget of 115 million yuan ($16.60 million). The automation transformation projects alone have a budget of 28.39 million yuan, and 29 new pieces of equipment will be introduced to enhance production capacity.
With its smart factory construction, Zhanhua Electronics has reduced its workforce by 64 positions, saving 7.68 million yuan annually in labor costs. The overall cost reductions reached 22.08 million yuan, and the customer complaint rates decreased by 73 percent. In 2024, the company achieved revenue of 1.15 billion yuan.
