Tongzhou offers innovative services to boost local employment
In recent years, Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been focusing on creating innovative services to support local employment opportunities for residents.
One notable initiative is an employment service station located at the district's Wanda Plaza. Established in the first half of this year, it is the first service station located in a commercial complex in Nantong.
"The service station primarily focuses on employment consultation, job collection, and assistance for flexible employment personnel. Since its completion in March this year, it has been receiving over 20 job-seekers on average per day, providing services to a total of 790 flexible employees and assisting over 30 individuals in securing employment," explained Wu Mei, a staff member at the service station.
Visitors to the employment service station can not only receive information on various job opportunities but also learn about policies such as social security subsidies, employment incentives, and assistance for disadvantaged job seekers. They can also access training on diverse vocational skills to enhance their employability.
Last year, Tongzhou completed the construction of four community employment service stations, assisting over 850 individuals from various priority groups in finding employment.
This year, Tongzhou plans to establish six employment service stations, aiming to assist a minimum of 470 individuals from disadvantaged groups in securing employment. Currently, five stations have been completed, aiding 415 job seekers facing difficulties in finding employment.
