Tongzhou's energy storage industry flourishes
The energy storage industry in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province has seen significant growth in recent years, establishing itself as a pivotal manufacturing sector within the district.
As of the first quarter, Tongzhou boasts three key enterprises in the energy storage sector. In 2023 alone, these enterprises recorded taxable sales exceeding 6.8 billion yuan ($939.56 million), year-on-year growth of an impressive 86.4 percent.
One standout company in the industry is Nantong Guoxuan New Energy Technology Co Ltd. The company specializes in smart mobile charging stations capable of powering three to four new energy vehicles simultaneously. Users can order the mobile charging service via their smartphones while parking within the service area, receiving immediate doorstep charging services.
Currently, this innovative product has been deployed in over 30 cities, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, with over 1,000 units in operation. At the beginning of this year, an additional order of 500 units was placed. Moreover, the product has gained traction in international markets, with exports to countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, and Singapore.
Another notable player in Tongzhou's energy storage landscape is AlphaESS Energy, with its global headquarters located in the Nantong National High-Tech Indsutrial Development Zone. Having been based in Tongzhou for over a decade, AlphaESS Energy has evolved from a startup to a nationally-recognized "little giant" enterprise in the energy storage equipment sector.
Looking ahead, Tongzhou will remain committed to fostering the growth of the energy storage industry, aiming to attract more innovative projects and stimulate development across the entire industrial supply chain.
