Improved services help Nantong national high-tech zone attract key project
The Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in East China's Jiangsu province has been improving its services to advance the construction of key projects in recent years.
The better services provided by local authorities have helped the zone attract investment from Freewon China Co Ltd.
Located in Kunshan, a county-level city in Suzhou, Freewon is a national high-tech company that specializes in the research and development, production, and sale of precision parts.
Knowing that the company intended to invest in the zone, authorities in 2021 immediately set up a special team aimed at answering questions and solving problems faced by Freewon.
In May of that year, Freewon and the zone signed deals on two projects worth 1.5 billion yuan ($218.13 million).
According to authorities, the projects cover an area of 166 mu (11.07 hectares) and are expected to produce 2.5 billion parts per year. Their taxable turnover is expected to reach 1.6 billion yuan after they reach their target output.
Cao Fucheng, assistant to the chairman of Freewon (Nantong) Co Ltd, said that the projects will advance the development of the precision parts industry in Jiangsu province and improve the innovative capacity of enterprises involved in the industrial chain.
Construction on the projects started last July and will be finished before the end of October.
A total of 25 key projects in the zone are currently under construction, while 20 will start construction this year, with a combined value of 13 billion yuan.
