Amphenol Corporation is a global leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of high-quality electrical and electronic interconnection systems. Its products are widely employed in the fields of industry, commercial aircraft, national defense, communications and automobiles.
In 2016, Amphenol acquired the FCI Group, which was located in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. To transfer the capacity of its Shanghai branch to Nantong, the group constructed a production facility in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
At present, the new Amphenol plant is installing and debugging equipment and is scheduled to ramp up to full output by the end of July.
Gao Hongjun, executive deputy secretary of the zone's Party working committee, made a keynote speech in which he stated that Nantong zone was focusing on the three major industries of automobile and parts, new-generation information technology and intelligent manufacturing.
With its large investment, high sci-tech content and market potential, the new plant is reportedly in line with both Amphenol's long-term strategy and the zone's high-quality development orientation.
Gao added that the zone would provide comprehensive services for Amphenol's plant during the entire process of starting up its operations.
