The Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone – located in Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – is expected to engage in more initiatives to advance its innovation.
That's after it was recognized on June 4 as one of 57 major opening-up platforms for interconnected innovative development with the China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone, by the office of the Jiangsu FTZ.
The only State-level high-tech industrial development zone in Nantong, the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone is a big cluster of leading auto parts companies and is also home to a large number of highly competitive information technology developers.
Always looking at the advanced practices of other regions, the Nantong high-tech zone learned a lot from the Suzhou area of the Jiangsu FTZ – especially since it set up the Su-Xi-Tong Science and Technology Park Interconnected Innovation Zone last October.
It's understood that the successful experience will inspire the Nantong zone to make more achievements through strengthened coordination with FTZs and other interconnected innovative development zones.
Plans are for it to work more closely with Nantong Customs to speed up the imports channel, while taking advantage of its logistics advantages to expand into the international market. It will reportedly also team up with the Suzhou FTZ area and together create a supply chain for auto parts, as well as establish a hub for integrated circuits and safe and controllable information technology.
Moreover, it will work with Shanghai and Suzhou to establish innovation and entrepreneurship incubation liaison stations. Efforts will also be made to introduce top professionals from the two cities and promote advanced intellectual property protection practices, according to a local official.
