Nantong hi-tech development zone committed to IP rights protection
Since the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone was named as a national intellectual property (IP) demonstration park last July, it has obtained a national and a provincial patent excellence award, adding to its credit.
The zone has thoroughly implemented the IP strategy, greatly enhancing its capacity for IP creation, application, protection and management.
The zone's IP office has set an annual goal of invention patent applications after investigating 40 key technology companies in the zone. Guided by the goal and driven by favorable policies, the enterprises were active in promoting IP development. Two of them were credited as national IP advantage enterprises.
Encouraged by the zone, more than 90 percent of technology companies have established long-term technical cooperation with universities and institutes.
Since the beginning of this year, five companies have obtained a total of 58 million yuan ($8.87 million) in IP pledge financing. Fifteen companies have financed 43 million yuan through a "Suke Loan", a special fund loan set up in Jiangsu province for risk compensation for transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
To facilitate the development, the IP office has restructured its leading group and worked out specific work plans and measures. It will organize IP service institutions to provide professional tailored services, assign special personnel to advance IP application for key enterprises and regularly hold various related lectures.
