STE project in Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone accelerates construction

Construction is accelerating on a project invested by Jiangsu Songtian Electronics (STE) Co Ltd with 175 million yuan ($25.3 million) in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
Covering nearly 1.7 hectares and with a construction area of 22,000 square meters, the STE project plans to build new workshops, power distribution rooms, auxiliary rooms and offices. Related production equipment will also be purchased to construct lines for automatic equipment production and LCD display assembly.
Having started construction on July 4, the project will now pick up the pace to overcome slowed progress created by rainy weather. Completion and beginning of operations is expected for December this year, according to a person in charge of project safety.
After completion, the company will be able to produce one million LCD screens and 1,600 sets of non-standard automatic equipment annually. After reaching full production capacity, its annual taxable sales will exceed 200 million yuan.
With the emergence in recent years of a new generation of information technology (IT) the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone has continued to vigorously develop the smart valley based on the Action Plan on Developing the New Generation of Information Technology Industry (2018-2025) issued by the Nantong municipal government.
Through integrating the region's companies making new basic IT supporting products such as semiconductor design and processing, circuit boards and electronic components, the zone is promoting key breakthroughs in image recognition, voice recognition intelligent algorithms, and professional chip manufacturing.
