Nantong textile park to start work on core business area
The Jiangsu Nantong International Home Textile Industrial Park – located in the city of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – announced on March 17 that it will start construction this year of its core business area.
It made the announcement while participating in the China International Trade Fair for Home Textiles and Accessories-Spring Edition, held in the city of Shanghai, also in East China.
The park gave details on the core area's layout and build-out, as well as facilities that are expected to attract a raft of businesses to locate there. The project will feature a world textiles plaza, a headquarters precinct for companies, an international food street and a number of premium hotels that will act as a spur for industry-city integration.
Located in the northeast of the home textile industrial park, the core business area to be constructed will have a total planning area of 2.73 square kilometers, of which 1.96 sq km is currently ready for development.
The entire project will be developed over two phases. Work on the first phase – covering 57.5 hectares – will commence in the current year, including the world textiles plaza, the corporate headquarters area, hotels and the international food street. Phase I is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
The second phase will cover an area of 140 ha and is due to start construction in 2022. The work will include the establishment of a series of gardens for resident businesses, serviced apartments, an international community and a youth community. Construction is due to be completed in 2025.
