The Jiangsu Nantong Su-Xi-Tong Science & Technology Park and the Jiangsu Nantong International Home Textile Industrial Park were inaugurated on Nov 23, following approval by the provincial government of Jiangsu province in East China.

The leaders of the prefecture-level city of Nantong – Xu Huimin, Han Fang and Pan Jianhua – attended the ceremony.

The establishment of the two parks is seen as an important measure undertaken by the Nantong municipal Party committee and government, because it implements national strategies and requirements raised by the provincial Party committees.

The home textile industry has the largest scale among Nantong's considerable textile industries. After decades of development, it has formed a developed ecosystem, with the Haimen Dearshiqiao market and the Tongzhou Zhihao market at its core.

Officials said the establishment of the Jiangsu Nantong International Home Textile Industrial Park will lead to the coordinated development of the two markets.

They said it will also boost the capacity and core competitiveness of Nantong's home textile industry, further enlarging the agglomeration effect for the sector, stimulating market vitality and promoting the construction of a world-class home textiles industry cluster.
