Dadao Road in the Nantong International Home Textile Industrial Park was successfully extended on Sept 28, marking a big step for the integrated development of Haimen Sanxing town and Tongzhou Chuanjiang town.

Dadao Road had been a discontinuous road for many years. With support from local governments, industrial parks and citizens, the west extension project of Dadao Road was completed nearly two months earlier than scheduled.

"Each week, we go to Tongzhou district three or four times for goods delivery and other reasons," Ms Yao, a resident from Sanxing town in Haimen district, said. "In the past, we had to detour around the blocked Dadao road, which created not only traffic jams but also poor road conditions; now the road is unblocked, which is much more convenient."

After decades of development, Nantong is now the largest home textile products distribution centers in China. It forms a layout with Haimen Dearshiqiao market that focuses on finished products and Tongzhou Zhihao market that focuses on fabrics and accessories developing coordinately.

In a bid to amplify the agglomeration effect of the Nantong home textile market and promote the high-quality coordinated development of Haimen Dearshiqiao and Tongzhou Chuanjiang areas, the Nantong municipal Party committee and government have formulated a three-year (2020-2022) action plan for the coordinated development of the Nantong home textile market. As a key task in 2020, the Dadao Road west extension project aims to break through the traffic bottleneck and improve the market function layout.
