China Dearshiqiao International Home Textiles reopened for business on Feb 24 in Haimen, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.
To reduce the impact that the COVID-19 outbreak has brought to local businesses, the market plans to offer a series of subsidies to help with transportation, accommodation and customs procedures for domestic and overseas buyers.
As one of the largest home textiles markets in China, Dearshiqiao is home to more than 2,500 textiles firms and more than 500,000 people are engaged in the industry.
Companies based at the market produce an annual output value of more than 200 billion yuan ($28.56 billion), and their products account for 10 percent of the country's textiles exports and 50 percent of Jiangsu's.
The market covers one million square meters and has more than 10,000 retail shops offering over 200 product categories, 560 brands and over 1,000 types of home textiles items.
The products account for more than 40 percent of the domestic market and are exported to more than 130 countries and regions.
