Haimen hosts first culture tourism festival

A poetry concert was held on Nov 15 in Haimen, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, marking the launch of the city's first culture and tourism festival.

Hosted by the city's government, Party committee, and culture and tourism bureau, the festival will run until Nov 30, involving 25 activities, such as cultural performances, academic forums, painting exhibitions, and art competitions.

More than 50 journalists from 28 media outlets in the Yangtze River Delta region will also take part in a three-day tour to capture the city's charm on camera.

Local officials said that the event was designed to showcase the rich culture and tourism resources in Haimen, and become an important platform for international culture and tourism exchanges.

In recent years, the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region and the improved transportation network in Nantong has brought great opportunities for culture and tourism development in Haimen.

The city aims to promote all-for-one tourism, which focuses on the upgrading and integration of tourism resources, public services, systems and mechanisms, as well as regulations and policies to boost economic development with tourism being a new engine for growth.
