China Dearshiqiao International Home Textiles was included in a list of China's top 100 commodity markets, which was released at the 11th China Commodity Market Summit held in Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 22.
Based in Sanxing town in Haimen, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, the textiles market was one of two Nantong-based markets that made it on the list, ranking 9th in terms of comprehensive strength. The other was Nantong Home Textile Market in Tongzhou district.
The Haimen market is one of the largest home textiles markets in China and is home to more than 2,500 textiles firms, including over 300 above the designated size with annual revenues of 20 million yuan ($2.83 million) or more.
Companies based at the market produce an annual output value surpassing 200 billion yuan, with their products accounting for 20 percent of the country's textiles exports, and 50 percent of Jiangsu's.
The market covers one million square meters with more than 10,000 retail shops, offering over 200 product ranges, including more than 560 brands and over 1,000 kinds of home textiles items.
The products are sold to 350 cities across China and exported to more than 130 countries and regions globally.
In 2018, the market's online and offline turnover totaled 110 billion yuan, with its domestic market share estimated at over 40 percent.
