August 23-25: New energy vehicles from the zone were unveiled at the 2018 Shanghai International New Energy Vehicle Industry Expo.

August 14: The leaders of the Development Alliance of Industrial Characteristic Towns of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Economic Coordination Committee visited the Hydrogen Energy Town in the zone.

June 21: Xu Huimin, then deputy Party secretary and acting mayor of Nantong, led a team to inspect progress on the special rectification of pollution caused by livestock and poultry breeding in the zone.

June 11: A hydrogen fuel cell bus delivery ceremony was held at the zone's Car Culture Center.

June 6: The second Government, Bank and Enterprise Financial Cooperation Talkfest was held in the zone.

April 24: At the invitation of the Ministry of Commerce, Ma Jinhua, a member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and deputy secretary of the development zone's Party committee, gave a lecture as an expert to a special training class on investment promotion in Lanzhou, Gansu province.

April 12: Lu Zhipeng, then secretary of Nantong Municipal Party Committee, came to the development zone to inspect the construction of high-standard farmland.

Feb 27: An entrepreneur salon was established, and Wang Haiqing, general manager of Bestway (Nantong) Recreation Corp, was named the first rotating chairman.

Jan 17: The zone held the 2017 annual summary and commendation conference on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of it becoming a national development zone.
