Ma Jinhua, a member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and deputy secretary of the development zone's Party working committee, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Building a new engine, embracing a new era" at the forum.

Dec 7: The 2017 China New Energy Vehicle Development Forum, sponsored by China Automotive News and co-organized by the development zone, was held in Rugao.

Nov 9-10: The second International Fuel Cell Vehicle Conference was held in Rugao.

Nov 4: The development zone held the first CEO senior training class at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Oct 10: A news conference for the second International Fuel Cell Vehicle Conference was held in Beijing, attended by Ma Jinhua, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Rugao Committee and deputy secretary of the CPC working committee of the development zone.

Aug 17: Li Qiang, then Party secretary of Jiangsu province, inspected the new energy automobile industry in the development zone.

July 1: The Nantong 2017 Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Forum was held.

May 3: The National Torch Rugao New Energy Automobile Characteristic Industry Base was approved.

March 19: The development zone passed the provincial intellectual property pilot park acceptance check.

Feb 17: The Yangtze River Delta base for entrepreneurship training of Fuzhou University was launched in the development zone.

Feb 16: The development zone cooperated with Shanghai Hualing Asset Management Co Ltd to set up a 10 billion yuan ($1.43 billion) industrial chain guidance fund.

Fen 9: The research and development project of Angstrom Advanced hydrogen production technology and equipment is signed in the development zone with total investment of 530 million yuan.

Jan 18: Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies set up a hydrogen fuel cell project in the development zone with total investment of 1 billion yuan.

Jan 9: The logistics center project of Nantong Mingshan International Logistics Co Ltd was officially started.
