Gangzha unveils new 24,000-TEU vessel
The launch ceremony for an environment-friendly container vessel that can accommodate 24,000-TEU containers was held in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province on Nov 15.
The container vessel, which is one of the largest in the world, was manufactured by Nantong Cosco Khi Ship Enginering Co Ltd.
The vessel is equipped with a large hydraulic windlass that was also developed and produced by Jiangsu Masada Heavy Industries Co Ltd.
Located in the Gangzha Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Masada is the only joint venture that has been authorized to produce anchor and mooring equipment, ship cranes and steering engines in China.
The windlass is an important component of a vessel that handles the anchor.
To produce products that meet the needs of the market, the company has been conducting scientific research by teaming up with universities and research institutions.
The domestic market share of anchor and mooring equipment, ship cranes, and steering engines produced by the company has been the third highest in China over the past three years.
