Chongchuan district – the main urban area of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – is working hard to develop a dynamic digital culture industry cluster focusing on five key sectors: livestreaming e-commerce, animations and games, e-sports, digital equipment and digital film and television.

Great progress has been made there in recent years thanks to the new generation of information technology.

The prosperity of the internet industry has led to the rise of many related businesses. One of them is Youjia Youxuan Network Technology (Nantong) Co Ltd, a rising star of Nantong's livestreaming e-commerce sector. In May, it forged agreements with local home textile enterprises and provided them with marketing services through short videos and livestreaming.

In addition to boosting the development of the home textile, home appliances and garment sectors,  the new generation of information technology is also being applied in other fields.

An example is Jiangsu New Power Intelligent Technology Co Ltd, specializing in the design, research and development of intelligent motion controlled non-standard equipment. It's been keen to capture the vast potential of the driving school market.

"In the process of getting a driver's license, we usually use a real car, which has a low efficiency," said CEO Li Bingnan. "The use of VR and AR technologies can not only improve efficiency, but also reduce costs," Li added.

Moving forward, Chongchuan is expected to further increase its policies to support the industry and encourage digital culture enterprises to expand.
