Nantong launches cultural, tourism consumption promotion season

The Nantong "Hao Tong You" cultural and tourism consumption promotion season was launched at the Haohe River scenic spot in Chongchuan district – the main urban area of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – on May 19.

At the launch, eight premium themed travel routes were released. In addition, a major promotion involving the new "Hao Tong You" series of value travel cards was also rolled out. The cards come in three categories: an annual card, a parent-child card and a card package and 10,000 of each category will be produced and distributed nation-wide.

The annual cards will have a price of 150 yuan ($22.30) and people holding them will be able to visit nine designated A-level scenic spots in Nantong an unlimited number of times in the year.

The parent-child cards will be issued to families nationwide, at the price of 438 yuan. Families consisting of two adults and one child holding the card can visit nine designated tourist sites in Nantong once a year.

The card packages will be issued at the price of 88 yuan. People holding it are able to visit the same sites as those who hold annual card, once a year.

In recent years, Chongchuan district has focused on development modes featuring "culture + ecology" and "culture + leisure". Moreover, it has planned a raft of projects that promote the integrated development of culture and tourism.

In 2021, Chongchuan had three scenic spots upgraded as national 3A-level ones, further enriching the district's cultural and tourism sector. It built and opened the Nantong Urban Agricultural Park featuring "agriculture + tourism", the Wonderful Farm with the theme of parent-child travel and the Beishi area in Tangzha ancient town which takes intangible cultural heritage as its highlight.
