Nantong NTEC Monofilament Technology Co Ltd – located in the Gangzha Economic Development Zone, or GZEDZ, in the Chongchuan district of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – was recently included on the list of "little giant" enterprises released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The group is the only company from the zone to win the honorary title – which is awarded to outstanding high-tech small and medium-sized businesses with high growth potential, advanced technology and a strong competitive edge.

NTEC Monofilament Technology is a national High and New-Tech Enterprise focusing on research and development, production and sales of large-diameter polymer monofilaments.

It reportedly has the largest production scale in the domestic sector, with 145 monofilament production lines. Its products possess the functions of electrical conductivity, high temperature resistance and degradability – and are widely used in environmental preservation, safety protection, medical equipment, 3D printing and in other fields.

The company's profile was raised when it was designated to undertake national key R&D plans and was invited to participate in the drafting of seven national and industry standards. To date, it has received 21 authorized invention patents.

A senior executive said the group had the goal of listing its shares on the STAR Market, also called science and technology innovation board, in 2024.

According to reports, Chongchuan district had two national-level smart workshops, six provincial-level smart workshops and seven provincial-level little giant enterprises recognized during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20).
