Sutong power station upgrades port as eco-friendly facility
The redevelopment of the existing Tiansheng port into an environmentally friendly port by Jiangsu Nantong Power Generation Co Ltd, also known as Sutong power station, was well underway on Aug 18, according to officials at the port in Chongchuan district in the city of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province.
At a coal unloading berth located in the Tiansheng Port – were the 2,000 megawatt coal-fired power station is located - staffs have already installed dust suppression and spraying systems.
They have also improved the online monitoring of dust, noise and radioactive materials, while fully implementing every decision made in the tough fight for prevention and control of pollution.
Officials said the Sutong power station is focusing on the Three-year Plan for the Construction of Green Port in Jiangsu Province - taking energy conservation and low-carbon and environmental protection as its goals and launches the brand of a "green port".
In addition, Sutong power station has completed environmental protection and technology upgrades - such as installing shore power systems, enclosing coal yards and dust suppression of ship unloading machines, in order to gradually transform the coal port into a "green port".

Moving forwards, officials said Sutong power station will develop the eco-friendly projects, such as wastewater treatment, to contribute more to extensive protection of the Yangtze River and to build an ecological civilization.
