At the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), Yongxing subdistrict, Nantong Gangzha Economic Development Zone of Jiangsu Province, has successfully implemented measures related to the prevention and control of pollution.

Air quality in Yongxing subdistrict has continued to improve, with good air quality achieved for more than 82 percent of the days in this year, an improvement of 8.3 percent from the previous year.

Yongxing has also placed special emphasis on the supervision and guidance of enterprises in environmental protection. For example, Nantong IKEA was the first enterprise to be equipped with a sewage disposal system. IKEA has also utilized eco-friendly solutions such as a rainwater harvesting system and solar panels to reduce its carbon footprint.

In addition, Yongxing will establish an environmental monitoring platform to remotely monitor and test the discharge of pollutants from enterprises in real time.

Besides enterprises, Yongxing has also promoted environmental protection in communities through measures such as standardizing the collection and transportation of waste and setting up volunteer teams for classified collection of waste.
