Chongchuan expands elderly care services with more fifth-level facilities
The second batch of fifth-level elderly care institutions in East China's Jiangsu province was recently announced, with a total of 16 institutions listed. Among them is the Shibei Nursing Home in Chongchuan district, Nantong.
The fifth level is the highest standard in the evaluation system for elderly care institutions. Chongchuan is currently home to two such institutions.
Since its establishment in 2016, Shibei Nursing Home has had dedicated sections for holistic health care, comprehensive care, intensive care, dementia care, and wound care. The institution now has 500 beds for the elderly.
Chongchuan in recent years has been making efforts to improve the service quality of elderly care institutions.
This year, the Chongchuan civil affairs bureau set up a committee to evaluate the level of elderly care institutions. The committee has invited experts from the municipal elderly services chamber of commerce to help the local institutions improve their facilities, expand service projects, improve service quality, and raise management standards.
At present, there are 20 level-rated elderly care institutions in the district, accounting for 52.63 percent of the total.
Moving forward, Chongchuan will continue to optimize the business environment for elderly care services and implement high-standard financial support policies to promote further development in the elderly care service industry.
