The opening ceremony of the 2023 Chongchuan Culture and Tourism Lifestyle Festival kicked off in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province on May 19, local media reported.
The three-day event features various activities, including a walking race, food markets, band performances, children's street dance performances, percussion music performances, and children's catwalk shows.
At the ceremony, the Chongchuan bureau of culture and tourism signed agreements with five travel agencies from the Yangtze River Delta region to further stimulate tourism in Chongchuan.
The festival is part of the 2023 Nantong Jianghai International Culture and Tourism Festival, which is in an effort to advance the development of the local culture and tourism industry.
So far this year, Chongchuan has carried out a number of activities to boost the tourism industry.
For example, it held a promotional conference to promote its cultural and tourist attractions in Shanghai.
In addition, the Sendi Snow Park in the district commenced the trial operations on May 1.
During the May Day holiday, the number of visitors to the district's key scenic spots reached a historic high, with 70 percent of them coming from other cities.
