Chongchuan teams up with Xi'an to boost high-tech industry
Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province recently held an investment promotional event in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, local media reported.
This move is one of the efforts made by Chongchuan to attract more investment and talent from Xi'an and boost the high-tech industry in the district.
During the event, deals on four talent projects related to science and technology were signed.
In addition, the branch center of the Nantong - Xi'an Jiaotong University achievement transformation center was launched during the event.
According to local authorities, the establishment of the platform aims to facilitate the transfer and commercialization of cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements by XJTU in Chongchuan. It will also play a crucial role in attracting talents to the district.
Xi'an is a center of innovation and science and technology in China.
In recent years, the number of exchanges between Chongchuan and Xi'an have increased and brought about many achievements.
For example, a talent station jointly established by the two sides in Xi'an has helped introduce a large number of talents to Chongchuan.
To date, Chongchuan has attracted many high-end talents, including five talent teams led by academicians.
Among them, 12 individuals have been included in the National Special Support Plan for High-level talents.
Thanks to the increasing number of talents, Chongchuan is currently home to one unicorn enterprise, seven potential unicorn enterprises and nearly 440 national high-tech enterprises.
The output value of the high-tech industry in the district accounts for 61.51 percent of the total, the highest proportion in Nantong.
