The Nantong Digital Transportation Industrial Park in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was inaugurated on Oct 11.
The industrial park, which was built by the provincial department of transportation and the Nantong government, aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the transport network in the province.
The 106,000-square-meter industrial park is home to a provincial demonstration base for the internet of vehicles that has made outstanding innovations related to the On Board Unit (OBU), the Road Side Unit (RSU) and the Brake-by-Wire system.
Nantong mayor Wu Xinming said at the inauguration ceremony that the city is expecting to establish cooperative ties with universities and research institutes as part of efforts to advance the digital transformation of Nantong's transport infrastructures.
He added that the construction of major transport infrastructure projects, including the Haimen-Taicang Tunnel and high-speed railways along the Yangtze River, will lay a solid foundation for the development of the digital transportation industry.
During the inauguration ceremony, 15 enterprises signed agreements to start businesses in the industrial park.
