The construction of a healthcare center in Qinzao sub-district of the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province is now underway.
The center is expected to be put into operation next June, according to local media reports.
Authorities in the zone had in August unveiled guidelines to build a complete medical and healthcare system consisting of public hospitals, community healthcare centers and family doctor clinics.
According to the guidelines, the local government will build 12 community healthcare centers in the zone so that more people can enjoy the convenience of the 15-minute healthcare circle.
The community healthcare centers are aimed at providing basic public healthcare service to people with chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
The zone is also planning to set up more family doctor clinics that will provide health management services to community residents.
In addition, the zone is making plans to attract more talents to engage in community healthcare services.
According to the plan, the zone will recruit 300 doctors for public hospitals and 400 staff for community healthcare centers by 2025.
Authorities will also take steps such as providing research subsidies to cultivate more talents.
