4 Chongchuan enterprises listed as 'little giants'

Four companies in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province recently made the list of "little giant" enterprises released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
According to official statistics, the zone is presently home to 15 "little giant" enterprises - five of them are national level little giants and 10 are provincial level ones.
"Little giant" enterprises are outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises that are deemed to be profitable and have excellent innovation capabilities, a significant market share, core technologies, as well as high product quality.
To be recognized as a "little giant" enterprise, the company's operating income in the previous year must exceed 50 million yuan ($7.38 million), and the total research and development expenses over the past two years must account for at least 6 percent of the total revenue.
Founded in 2022, Nantong Great Electric Co Ltd, which focuses on the research and development of automobile electric steering systems, electric vehicle charging systems and automotive wiring systems, was listed as a national little giant.
NGEC is known for having developed a cutting-edge machining center and a traceability management system for harness products.
NGEC will play a leading role in further boosting automation and digitalization of the harness industry, according to a company representative.
The zone will make great strides in cultivating innovation enterprises related to electronic information, intelligent equipment and new materials in the coming years, according to authorities.
