Chongchuan launches innovation, venture contest
The Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province held a news conference on July 30, ahead of the 2022 Chongchuan Innovation and Venture Summit scheduled for October, to attract more high-caliber talents from overseas.
The zone launched the 2nd Nantong Innovation and Venture Contest at the conference.
Wang Xiaohong, head of the united front work department of the Nantong CPC committee, said that the Nantong government will continue efforts to improve its business environment so as to attract more global top talents to pursue innovation and start businesses in the city.
The efforts will include providing better government services and promoting the implementation of preferential policies.
The contest will play a significant role in promoting Nantong and recruiting high-level talents from around the world, said a local official.
The city has welcomed 50 provincial-level talents and 15 hi-tech professionals since holding the innovation and venture summit last year. It has also signed 30 cooperation agreements with universities including Tsinghua University and Xi'an Jiaotong University.
The zone is currently home to nearly 400 hi-tech enterprises, five of which were named potential unicorn companies from Nantong. Ten of these companies are listed entities.
