Chongchuan, a pioneer of internet of vehicles
The Nantong trials of the second China Intelligent Connected Vehicle Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (CICV competition) were held in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Dec 2, attracting the participation of 17 excellent enterprises and teams.
The intelligent connected vehicles industry is one of the 13 advanced manufacturing clusters receiving a special focus at the provincial level. Chongchuan district, the main front of Nantong's internet of vehicles (IoV) industry, is striving to build itself into a leading domestic demonstration area for IoV.
The district is home to the first professional "5G + IoV" demonstration park integrating public service platforms, industrial ecology and typical demonstration applications in the north of the Yangtze River. More than 40 important enterprises have set up operations there.
The annual output value of IoV industry in the district is expected to exceed 6 billion yuan ($942 million), a growth of at least 30 percent.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Chongchuan district will focus on technological innovation, introducing enterprises and projects, and cultivating industrial chains to continuously expand its IoV cluster. It also strives to achieve breakthroughs in applying IoV technology in logistics, sightseeing and public transport.
