The development of the Nantong IT Application Innovation Park in Chongchuan district, Nantong will gain more momentum with the agreement of 10 more promising companies to settle in the park.

The renowned Chinese printer company Pantum, located in Zhuhai, Guangdong province was among the enterprises that signed up with Chongchuan district for their future development.

Pantum chose the park because of Nantong's burgeoning new-generation information technology (IT) development. Statistics show that the output value of related industries in the city exceeded 230 billion yuan ($34.25 billion) last year.

The development of IT application innovation in Nantong emphasizes four leading sectors: communication products, integrated circuit packaging and testing, electronic components, and electronic devices. New fields such as intelligent software, image and speech recognition, and intelligent robots are also developing rapidly, thanks to the constant improvements to related infrastructure.

ZTT Group, Tongfu Microelectronics Co Ltd and other local companies dedicated to IT application innovation have carved out a place for themselves in the domestic and international industry. Meanwhile, benchmark companies such as Alibaba, Huawei, and Inspur are cooperating with Nantong. The city has signed a joint construction agreement with China Electronic System Technology Co Ltd and the China Software Test Center.

Since last year, Chongchuan district has researched and formulated a five-year development plan for the new generation of IT industries that focuses on innovative IP applications and cybersecurity. It has also teamed up with the Information Classified Security Protection Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Public Security and China Electronic System Technology Co Ltd to build the Yangtze River Delta cybersecurity industrial park and a school-enterprise-government joint project that tackles technical problems. Training courses have been held for protection personnel of important national information systems, and a network security industry development fund and an IT application innovation fund are now set up.

Policy opinions on accelerating the development of a new generation of information technology industries were issued by the district. As a result, the software and IT service industries represented by big data, cloud computing, smart chips, smart buildings, and the internet of things have begun to take shape.

Currently, Chongchuan is home to dozens of IT application innovation enterprises such as Zetta Technology and Sangfor Technologies. It has set the goal of achieving an annual output value of 50 billion yuan in the Nantong IT Application Innovation Park by 2024.
