(chinadaily.com.cn)| April 30, 2020

Nantong Xingdong International Airport (IATA:NTG) is ten kilometers away from the city’s urban area and 100 kilometers from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Entrances of Shanghai-Xi’an Highway and Shenyang-Haikou Highway, which connect Sutong Yangtze River Bridge and Chongqi Bridge, are 3.5 kilometers away from the airport to the southwest. Owing to the developed ground transportation facilities in Nantong, traffic to the airport flows smoothly. The airport is defined by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) as "Shanghai international aviation hub auxiliary airport ".

While its international and domestic passenger and cargo business is in full swing, the airport is accelerating its development of the aviation industry. Projects of regional distribution centers of SF Express, CAMECO, and Apex Air Co Ltd have been completed, and more than ten navigation organizations and enterprises, such as the oriental base of the Flight Inspection Center of the CAAC and Shanghai YTO Express (Logistics) Co Ltd, have settled there. Construction has begun on a new terminal building of 52,000 square meters and related ancillary facilities. The main building will be equipped with 11 air bridges, allowing throughput of five million person-trips and 200,000 tons of cargo. Hotels and other infrastructure will also be available.
