Lin Li, born on Oct 9, 1970 in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is a female swimmer.
Lin was China's first world champion and also the first to win both an Olympic gold medal and break a world record at the Olympic Games.
Lin was China's first swimmer to compete in three Olympic Games - in 1988, 1992 and 1996.
