Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is promoting stable agricultural development amid the coronavirus outbreak and has taken several effective measures during the time for spring ploughing.

The vegetable cooperative in Guanyinshan subdistrict has organized a total of 13 planting workers to work on spring ploughing. The planting procedures are all carried out in an orderly manner, including tilling the soil, applying fertilizers, ridging, setting shelter belts for farmlands and planting.

Technicians experienced in farming are also dispatched to give guidance to the planting workers to ensure production returns to normal.

"We have made scientific plans and properly arranged things related to spring ploughing, trying to maintain steady production amid the epidemic control," said Du Ruishan, director of the district's bureau of agriculture and rural affairs.

Abundant pesticides and fertilizers have been prepared for farmers. The bureau also helps promote cooperation between farmers and agricultural cooperatives, and offers guidance on transporting materials and agricultural technology.
