Jiangsu Tiancheng Technology Group, a major agribusiness in Hai'an, runs a 2-million-hen egg farm that produces 20,000 metric tons of fresh eggs each year.

Behind this large-scale operation is a fully digital system that monitors, feeds, and manages the flock around the clock.

Patrol robots make three rounds through the hen house every day without any human intervention. They collect data on temperature, humidity and air quality. They can also find sick or dead birds and tell exactly which cage they are in.

Lighting is another area of technological innovation. Each house uses customized LED lights with light spectrums specially designed for poultry vision.

The ventilation system is equally advanced. It switches between horizontal and vertical airflow based on outside temperature, helping to keep the hens in good condition for steady egg production.

Feeding is fully automated. The farm has its own feed mill on site, which prepares the proper diet for each stage of the hens' growth. Water and feed are delivered through an integrated system, and all intake records are automatically logged.

Xu Shangli, the farm's general manager, said the best group of hens had a 703-day laying cycle. Each hen produced 505 eggs in her lifetime. That is higher than the global standard of 500 eggs in 700 days.
