May Day holiday fuels Chongchuan consumption boom
During the May Day holiday, the total sales of 25 key commercial enterprises in Chongchuan district exceeded 310 million yuan ($45.56 million), up 4.9 percent from the previous year. The foot traffic surpassed 1.95 million visits, up 9.2 percent compared with the same holiday period last year.
Colorful activities and promotional offers across the district sparked a significant surge in consumer spending.
Sales at six major shopping malls exceeded 150 million yuan, up 9.9 percent from a year earlier, while foot traffic reached 1.69 million visits. Nantong MixC Mall hosted a burger festival featuring over 20 national burger brands and more than 50 popular brands, while Wenfeng World offered free clothing care and manicure services.

The total sales of seven restaurant and hotel enterprises in the district exceeded 7.64 million yuan, up 7.3 percent from the previous year. Nantong Hotel provided free shuttle services to scenic spots, and Wenfeng Hotel offered free breakfast, scenic spot tickets and gift packages.
From May 1 to 4, a car show featuring numerous brands was held at the Nantong International Convention and Exhibition Center. Alongside the event, Nantong's first AI robot exhibition, a street dance competition, an e-sports competition and a food and cultural market took place, combining car exhibitions with leisure and entertainment.
