Haimen achieved a total foreign trade import and export value of 7.87 billion yuan ($1.15 billion) from January to February, up 29.2 percent from last year. Exports accounted for 6.18 billion yuan, an increase of 27.3 percent, while imports amounted to 1.69 billion yuan, up 36.7 percent. 

Haimen has been actively promoting industrial upgrades regarding the export product structure, which has led to continuous optimization. In the first two months, exports of electromechanical products from Haimen reached 4.1 billion yuan, accounting for 66.4 percent of total exports, and reflecting a 42.9 percent increase from last year. 

The trade market structure has also seen improvements. During the same period, trade with traditional partners such as the United States, the European Union, Japan and the United Kingdom totaled 3.29 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 82.1 percent and accounting for 41.8 percent of the district's total foreign trade value. 

At the same time, its trade with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries increased by 15.9 percent year-on-year, accounting for 25 percent of the district's total foreign trade value. Trade with Belt and Road Initiative partner countries grew by 85.2 percent year-on-year, accounting for 49.3 percent of the district's total foreign trade value.
