Nantong welcomes nearly 5m visitors during spring break

Nantong in Jiangsu province received over 4.67 million tourists during the spring break from April 2 to 7, generating total tourism revenue of 2.72 billion yuan ($398.18 million), up 25.5 percent and 26.1 percent, respectively.

Visitors born in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s accounted for 65.54 percent of the total, highlighting a clear trend toward younger urban tourists.

The city's major tourist attractions and educational bases witnessed a surge in visitor numbers. Popular sites like Langshan Mountain, Haohe River, Nantong Forest Safari Park and Bencha Ancient Town saw ticket bookings rise by over 150 percent.

During spring break, various unique camping sites such as Binjiang Flower Sea, Tujia Campground, Urban Agriculture Park and Snail Art Camp, experienced a surge in activity, with operating income increasing by more than 20 percent compared to the previous year.

Key scenic resources, including Langshan Mountain, Nantong Forest Safari Park, and Qitang City, along with industrial tourism spots like Yisheng Cultural Park, Alphay and Huayi Tie-Dye Museum, offered a variety of activities. These included fruit picking, camping festivals and coming-of-age ceremonies.

In addition, the city's cultural centers and libraries organized a series of special educational activities, featuring over 40 unique events, including spring outings, reading events and popular science courses.
