A delegation of 22 Russian cultural and tourism experts visited Nantong, Jiangsu province, for an exchange and inspection tour from March 18 to 19.

Led by Elena Golosova, chairwoman of the Landscape Architecture Committee of Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States, the delegation visited several scenic spots, including Haohe River, Shuihui Garden and Seyuan Garden.

As 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the China-Russia strategic partnership, this visit aims to further deepen cultural exchange and cooperation between the two nations and to actively promote Nantong's cultural and tourism resources in the Russian market.

On March 18, the delegation arrived in Nantong and enjoyed a night cruise on the Haohe River and the next day, they visited Shuihui Garden and Seyuan Garden.

At Shuihui Garden, known for its exquisite design and rich cultural heritage, the experts, dedicated to landscape architecture research, were deeply impressed. At Seyuan Garden, they paid respects at the tomb of modern entrepreneur Zhang Jian (1853-1926). They also explored the rich plant landscapes and historical relics within the garden, highly praising Nantong's achievements in garden preservation and ecological construction.

This visit has laid a foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two sides in garden culture exchange, professional exchange visits and high-end customized tourism group introductions, injecting new momentum into Nantong's cultural and tourism outreach.
