Tongzhou leads Nantong in high-quality development

Tongzhou district stood at the forefront of Nantong's high-quality development in 2025, with its several key indicators ranking first in the entire city.

The gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 5.7 percent. Industrial invoice sales exceeded the 20 million yuan ($2.90 million) mark. The added value of industrial enterprises above the designated scale grew by 11.2 percent. The revenue of the service sector above the designated scale increased by 19.1 percent. Loans to the manufacturing sector rose by 15.4 percent. Retail revenue from social consumer goods increased by 7 percent. The value of foreign trade output jumped by 36 percent.

This strong performance can be attributed to three well-focused strategies: Upgrading industrial chains, elevating the capacity of enterprise tiers, and creating a comprehensive and solution-oriented business environment.

In 2025, the total industrial output of the eight key industrial chains in Tongzhou exceeded 130 billion yuan, accounting for 80 percent of the district's overall output. Emerging future industries such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors demonstrated strong growth momentum.

In 2025, the number of enterprises with annual revenue exceeding 100 million yuan surpassed 200. Sixty-eight specialized and sophisticated enterprises at the provincial level or above were added. 

In 2025, a total of over 500 enterprise requests were collected and resolved. Measures to improve the business environment in Tongzhou were formulated. An innovative e-book integrating 157 policies from 12 enterprise-related departments across the district was launched.

Aiming to further strengthen its industrial economy's leading edge and maintain its position among the top in Nantong's industrial indicators, Tongzhou will make every effort to develop distinctive and advantageous industrial chains, promote intelligent transformation, and facilitate capital expansion and production increase in 2026.
