The Swiss Embassy in China will continue to actively promote mutual benefit and common development in more areas between Switzerland and Nantong, said Swiss Ambassador to China Krystyna Marty Lang.

Ambassador Lang made these remarks during a meeting with Mayor of Nantong Zhang Tong on Jan 23, accompanied by Jeff Rowe, CEO of Switzerland–headquartered Syngenta Group.

She said the close economic and trade ties and the solid foundation of cooperation between the two places are vividly exemplified by Syngenta Group's positive development in the city.

Rowe expressed his gratitude for Nantong's continuous support, noting that the city's excellent business environment, comprehensive industrial infrastructure, and efficient administrative services instill a sense of security and confidence in local enterprises.

Looking ahead, he noted the group plans to facilitate the implementation and transformation of more agricultural technologies in Nantong, thereby contributing to the further modernization of agriculture in the city.

Speaking on behalf of local authorities, Zhang welcomed the Swiss delegation and expressed appreciation for their long-standing support in Nantong's development.

She expressed her hope that Syngenta Group would continue to view Nantong as a strategic hub for optimizing its global productivity, advancing reinvestment of profits, establishing a technology research and development center in the city, and setting a global benchmark for crop protection.

Additionally, she encouraged the group to leverage its unique strengths as the world's largest agricultural technology company to support Nantong's technology-driven agricultural initiatives.

Zhang also said she hoped Ambassador Lang would introduce more high-quality Swiss enterprises and institutions to Nantong for investment and exploration. She said Nantong aims to become a preferred location for multinationals in the Yangtze River Delta by fostering a transparent, stable, and predictable first-class business environment.
