Tongzhou companies designated as national-level "little giant" firms
A record 11 companies from Tongzhou district, Nantong, have been included in the seventh batch of national-level "little giants" enterprises, according to a notice issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
A standout among the newly designated is Jiangsu Tongsheng Heat Exchanger Co, established in 2011 and focused on finned tube heat exchanger for refrigeration. In 2023 and 2024, its flagship products captured 19.37 percent and 22.24 percent of the domestic market share, respectively.
Tongsheng has pioneered the development of finned tube heat exchangers with ultra-low leakage. It introduced an innovative tube expansion positioning structure and a method for maintaining pressure in heat exchangers, which results in a leakage rate of less than 2 grams per year under 3 Megapascal of helium pressure.
From January to October, it invested approximately 7.16 million yuan ($1.01 million) in research and development, a year-on-year increase of 17 percent. To date, it holds 54 patents, including 26 invention patents, with two being maintained at a high value for over a decade.
With the new additions, Tongzhou hosts 125 specialized, sophisticated, distinctive and innovative enterprises above the provincial level, including 27 "little giant" companies.
