Nantong-based Jiangsu Guofeng Zhongwu Co signed a cooperation agreement with Riverside Complex for a high-rise residential project in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan, on Oct 11.

This signing, taking place during the Jiangsu-Kezilesu Kirgiz autonomous prefecture construction cooperation promotion conference, marks a further expansion of Nantong construction companies in the overseas market.

The Kezilesu Kirgiz autonomous prefecture is located in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, bordering Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, with a border length of 1,133.7 kilometers. It has two national first-class ports and serves as an important gateway in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt. With the deepening of the Belt and Road Initiative and ongoing support work in Xinjiang, Kezilesu has transformed from a remote inland area into a vital frontier for westward opening.

Nantong's cooperation with Xinjiang in construction has a long history. Since the 1970s, Nantong's construction teams have actively responded to national calls, building numerous high-quality projects with distinctive contemporary and ethnic characteristics.

In recent years, Nantong construction companies have continued to deepen their cooperation with Xinjiang. They have contributed significantly to economic development and livelihood improvement in the region by recruiting local talent, training ethnic minority technical workers, participating in various rural vitalization projects such as streetlight renovation and urban greening, and collaborating with the Red Cross on activities like the eye care lamp initiative and establishing scholarships.

At the conference, attendees from Jiangsu Guofeng and Nantong Si Jian Construction Group Co spoke as representatives of Jiangsu enterprises. Representatives from several Nantong construction companies, including Tongzhou Construction Group and Jiangsu Qi'an Construction Group Co, were invited to participate.
