China launched a group of test satellites for satellite internet technology from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on Sept 16, one of which was developed by GalaxySpace and manufactured at its smart factory in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA).‌

The satellite is the world's first to achieve the engineering application of an innovative configuration and new materials, with its core components independently developed.

At GalaxySpace's satellite smart factory in NETDA, the production line operates at high speed, with supporting component lines closely integrated. The streamlined processes have accelerated component delivery and on-site troubleshooting, achieving standardization and the scaling up of satellite production.

Hu Zhao, chief designer of the GalaxySpace satellite model, said, "This mass production capability will provide critical support for global satellite internet coverage, potentially covering traditional network blind spots like deserts, oceans, and mountains, allowing people in these areas to easily enjoy stable network services."

As a leading company in China's commercial space industry, GalaxySpace has launched 35 independently developed satellites into orbit, including China's first batch of low-earth orbit broadband communication satellites, the first flexible solar wing flat-panel satellite, and the world's first distributed multi-satellite formation synthetic aperture radar satellite.
