The Tongzhou section of National Highway 228 completed repairs and upgrades on Aug 25 and opened the following day.

This repair project stretched 3.4 kilometers, starting from Shizong Primary School in the north and extending to Qingfeng Road in the south. Through defect identification, patching, and asphalt paving, the project addressed the road surface damage caused by heavy traffic over an extended period.

During the construction process, environmentally friendly recycling technology was employed. Specifically, 25 percent of the asphalt concrete mix, which was milled off the old road surface using a milling machine, was added into the lower asphalt layer, along with polyolefin modifiers. This approach has not only conserved resources but also made the road stronger.
