A unique art exhibition titled Who is the Undercover Artist? is being showcased at Wusan Art Museum in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.

Curator Yu Xian has collaborated with 17 artists to initiate a public experiment defined by art, creating a tension-filled conceptual dialogue for the audience. This exhibition provokes deep reflection on the essence of art, the criteria for art evaluation, and the audience's role in defining art.

Three undercover amateur artists are hidden among the 17 participants. Visitors navigate through over 30 diverse artworks, deciphering intentionally designed dual-label puzzles. White labels represent official interpretation, while green labels reveal the true intent.

This is a game without standard answers, where the audience's role in defining art is as crucial as the value of the artworks themselves. Ultimately, visitors rely on their observations and intuition to vote for the three undercover artists they believe in.

By concealing the identities of the creators, utilizing dual-colored labels with intertextual significance, and implementing a voting mechanism, the exhibition directly addresses the power structures inherent in art evaluation systems. It invites visitors to engage in this thought-provoking game about "what is art" and "who defines art". The exhibition runs until Aug 25.
