Hai'an is ramping up investment and encouraging companies to accelerate equipment upgrades. In the first half of 2025, 90 projects across the city invested a total of 1.56 billion yuan ($217.2 million) in equipment renewal.
In the high-speed bonding workshop of Checkpoint Systems Jiangsu, located in the Hai'an Economic and Technological Development Zone, seven production lines are running at full capacity. "This year, the company purchased two new machines from Germany, which are 6 to 8 times more efficient than the old models," said production manager Shi Yu. Following a 45-million-yuan technical upgrade, the company has seen substantial growth in order from both European and American markets.
Equipment renewal in Hai'an goes beyond hardware replacement — it is driving transformation in production methods and leaps in efficiency. Jiangsu Beijiali Machinery Technology, a designer, manufacturer, and seller of auto parts, has in recent years advanced its equipment upgrades by partnering with the Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Technology to develop a new automated production line, achieving unmanned operations.
For Bestory Advanced Materials, equipment renewal has opened a new chapter of development. After more than a year of upgrades, the company's four new production lines have been fully commissioned. "To capture a larger share of the chemical fiber market, we moved upstream in the industry, investing 500 million yuan in top-tier equipment to build an industrial yarn production workshop," said production director Liang Wanzhi. With an annual capacity now reaching 50,000 metric tons, the company expects an additional 700 million yuan in annual sales.
