The Wang Geyi Calligraphy and Seal Carving Art Exhibition recently opened at the Geyi Art Museum in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.

Wang Geyi, a prominent figure in 20th-century Chinese calligraphy and seal carving, has attained significant achievements in poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal carving. He has developed a distinctive artistic style marked by grandeur and a harmonious blend of colors and ink.

His calligraphy exhibits vigorous brushstrokes and elegance, while his seal carving shows a graceful beauty rooted in its simplicity and antiquity.

This exhibition presents a comprehensive review of Wang's accomplishments, featuring works from various periods of his artistic career that demonstrate the evolution and growth of his artistic style.

An academic symposium also took place during the event. Experts and scholars from both inside and outside the province discussed topics such as the inheritance and innovation of Wang's art. They all agreed that his artistic achievements stem from both his personal artistic accomplishments and his significant influence on the future development of art. His artistic philosophy of "drawing inspiration from the past while innovating within tradition" offers valuable insights for contemporary artists and presents new perspectives for the inheritance and growth of Chinese traditional culture.

The exhibition will run until Aug 6. During this time, various activities such as lectures and interactive experiences will be organized to offer a deeper understanding of Wang's artistic achievements and artistic philosophy.
